I want to encourage you to text someone that you love and tell them just how special they are to you and exactly why. Tell them to soak in the words, to freely accept them and value them as true.
People need to hear that they are loved and valued individuals. That they are one of a kind and that they are needed here on this earth. That they have a purpose and a reason for being here. That they are recognized as a beautiful constellation of human attributes. That they are definitely not a burden, but a blessing in your life, on the good days and bad.
I know that this all may sound over dramatic or silly, but I believe that people do not hear these things enough. We need to be reminded of why we’re special and how much the people around us care for us.
It is easy to forget these things when we don’t take the time to remind ourselves or others these things.
Friend, you matter.
It’s okay, and necessary, to lean on people. Your loved ones are there for you every step of the way, through the good and bad. They want to support you in anyway possible because they care about every little piece of you. Remember that. Feel how much you care for others and know that you are cared for just as much, if not more.
And if you feel like there isn’t anyone who cares about you, know that there is a God that created you with His own hands. He lovingly shaped you and crafted you into the beautiful human that you are. He is a big fan of who you are, who you were, and who you’re becoming. He saw that there was a need for you here on this earth.
Sometimes you can intellectually know these things, but can’t feel them. If you can’t feel them and know them deeply, I encourage you to seek the help that you might need to be able to feel them and know them as true. It can be scary and a hard process, but it usually ends with beautiful self-acceptance.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared in advance for us to do.
